 The L4157 would like to congratulate Dave Tefft for his promotion to Lieutenant! Lt. Tefft was sworn in April 15th and will begin working on Group 1 on May 3rd. Good luck to Dave in his new position! The IAFF and IAFC is encouraging all IAFF affiliates to participate in the 2009 Fire/EMS Safety, Health, and Survival Week scheduled for June 14-20. The focus of this year's Safety Week will center around the theme, "Protect Yourself: Your Safety, Health and Survival Are Your Responsibility" and will address four key areas. For more information on this year's Safety Week, see the IAFF site or the IAFF Emergency Vehicle Safety Program. Summer is rapidly approaching and the L4157 is gearing up for Convention. The biennual PFFM Convention is kicking off on June 14th on the Cape. Any member interested in attending, please contact an e-board member. The L4157 Annual Convention is also scheduled for July 7th. L4157 members are joining with members of Southbridge and Ayer in the 2009 Bike MS: Cape Cod Getaway. The ride takes place June 27/28, covers 150 miles from Quincy to Provincetown, and benefits the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Anyone interested in making donations to the L4157 team, please email us for more information. ...the Local would like to announce that the contract for the firefighter's bargaining unit has been ratified. Please see an E-Board member for more information. The annual fund raiser to support the AFD Local 4157 has ended. The donations go to supporting local scholarships, charities and non-profit groups. The comedy show is scheduled for January 9th. Any questions, feel free to call AFD HQ for more information regarding either. We'd like to thank any and all that contributed.
