![]() The L4157 would like to show its support for Firefighter/Paramedic Paul Newcomb of Rutland L4557A. Brother Newcomb was injured in the line of duty on a medical call a little over a year ago that resulted in a disabling, career ending back injury. Whilst awaiting a medical retirement, Brother Newcomb was denied benefits under 111F. Instead the Town of Rutland has decided to place Brother Newcomb on Worker's Comp thus denying him approximately 40% of his pay. The fight continues in northern Worcester County and we would like to support FF Newcomb in his battle! This malicious attempt to interpret the law in this manner is egregious, and we must stand together. If Rutland gets away with it, you could be next! An injury to one is an injury to all! Firefighter Bo Butler of Londonderry NH L3160 testified before the NH House. Click here to hear his testimony. Ed Schultz of MSNBC defends firefighters against those who would argue that government spending cuts should including taking anything away from America's bravest public servants. Click here for his video. Firefighter Rick Smith of the Ipswich FD L1913 (and formerly Lawrence FD) discusses the difficulties of the job. Click here for his video. L4157 Firefighter/Paramedic Adam Rivers was called to serve his country through the Army and is currently serving in Iraq. The L4157 would like to wish Adam a safe tour and look forward to his return on the line in Auburn. Stay safe Brother Rivers! Support our troops by wearing your red shirts to work every Friday. Thanks everyone for your support! |
