After recieving a report of a missing person, Auburn Police with the help of K-9 Officer Jim Ljunngren and his partner "Gerry", tracked the victim to Camp Gleason. Officer Ljunngren is also a public safety diver for Auburn. Auburn's Dive Team was immediatley requested and began a very difficult recovery effort which took a week to complete. Mutual Aid was requested for manpower due to the extremely difficult conditions. Dive teams were requested from Worcester Fire, Webster Fire, Framingham Public Safety, MA Fire District 14, Thompson CT Fire, and the MA State Police. The assistance of the CT Canine Search and Rescue was also requested (CCSAR). Camp Gleason is a man-made pond ranging from 0-50 feet in some spots, full of thick vegetation and silt, and has nearly zero visability. After a week of searching, and the assistance of multiple organizations, the victim was finally recovered.
